A DOG kennel facility sounding more like a childcare centre for dogs was approved for Canungra by Scenic Rim Regional Council last week.

The ‘Doggy Day Care’ facility is proposed for a 27ha site at 28 Curtis Road.

It will operate within the hours of 7am and 6pm, seven days a week with a maximum of 20 dogs allowed on site and it will feature a pick-up and drop-off service for the dogs.

No overnight kennelling was proposed in the development application.

The council approved a material change of use for the site, zoned for rural
