Country Parson: Village of the damned

In August 1666 residents of the little mining village of Stoney Middleton in the English Midlands watched from a high hill as a woman named Elizabeth Hancock from their nearby sister village of Eyam began to drag a human-shaped bundle roped at the legs into an open paddock outside her home. 

They knew what she was doing, and they were afraid.
