IN a tradition begun by Jap and Jenny Lawrence, the Boonah and Fassifern Lions hosted a visit by Santa at the Fassifern Retirement Village.
This year, three staff from Arthur Clive’s Cafe joined the Lions to visit with residents and add some more smiles to the photos with Santa segment.
“The Lions from both Clubs have been involved with this Christmas tradition for about seven or eight years,” said Boonah President, Myles Murray.
“It was originally started by Jenny and Jap Lawrence after Jenny retired from work up at the Village and we have carried on from there.”
The Lions and their helpers give the gift of Christmas cakes and friendship.
“It’s a tradition we really enjoy being involved in and the residents are usually waiting for us to arrive.
