A HALF a million-dollar project is well underway at St Brigid’s and is expected to be ready in time to welcome students and families back to a ‘grand entrance’ for the start of the new school year.

The project which started at the end of 2021 includes a front entrance and driveway upgrade, a welcoming sign with the school’s name and logo and a more efficient stop, drop and go system.

Primarily funded by Brisbane Catholic Education with the assistance of the school the project is estimated to have cost $500,000.

Features which complement the upgrades consist of a river rock feature in the middle of the new two-lane system leading up to the school’s main office.

Landscaping and a stone wall are also additions which are set to enhance the schoolgrounds, creating colour and interest to the buildings and the main driveway.

School Principal Duane Wann said he was very happy to see this major upgrade take place, a project that has paid off with the help and assistance from all of the school staff who have worked together to bring this vision into fruition.

“Brisbane Catholic Education have been amazing in supporting our school, St Brigid’s is already a beautiful little school and this feature will complement it,” he said.

“Not only will this make access to the school a lot easier it will also be aesthetically pleasing as families, staff and visitors enter the school grounds.”

The school’s memorial has also been relocated, a sacred monument to the school this memorial will be honoured on Anzac and Remembrance Day services.
