A few ‘daggy’ little patches of trees by the sides of roads on the Darling Downs could be the last hope for what scientists say are some of the most imperilled butterflies in Australia.
And if those butterflies can be saved, a whole host of plants and animals will benefit too.
Because it turns out many of those butterflies have an extraordinary relationship that involves ants, trees and mistletoes.
