FASSIFERN Netball Association (FNA) officials were relieved the rain stopped in time to allow the latest Scenic Rim Challenge Carnival to go ahead at the Boonah courts.
“We were very lucky with the weather,” FNA president Amanda Dover said.
“Coulson Crossing was rising but our visiting associations - Beaudesert, Beechmont and Tamborine - were all still able to reach us.
“And with the sun shining and our courts dry it was a perfect day.”
Tamborine was awarded the perpetual trophy as overall winners.
Fassifern teams also shared in the success involving 33 sides, nearly 300 players and support from family and friends.
Fassifern’s winning teams were in the 11/12 and 13/14 divisions.
The 11/12 Division 2 competition ended in a three-way draw.
On countback, the Charnai Anderson coached Fassifern 4 team were declared winners with Tamborine 4 runner-up and Fassifern 3, coached by Brooke Clark, a close third.
The 13/14 division had seven teams.
After playing six games spread from round 1 to round 14, Fassifern 6 were the winners and Beaudesert 6 came second.

The 9/10 Division was won by Tamborine 3 with Fassifern 2 runner-up.
In the tough 15/17 division, Tamborine 10 took home the winning medal with Fassifern 7 second.
Fassifern 7 is the association’s 15/16 REP team coached by Narelle Smith, who said the girls played amazing netball.
Amanda said the carnival experience would be a boost for their confidence going into the final Darling Downs Interdistrict carnival in three weeks.
Beaudesert 10 won the Open Division with Tamborine runner-up.
Fassifern’s 7/8 “Little Netties” benefitted from the experience working with coach Justine Lutter. The young players received participation ribbons for their first carnival.
Amanda praised everyone who contributed to making the annual carnival a success.
“We had an amazing army of volunteers show up for Fassi, from set-up to pack-up,” Amanda said.
“We’re so lucky to have such a strong community spirit within our association.”
