Armed robbery trio targets Springfield business

Staff at a licensed Springfield Parkway business were threatened by two men with a firearm and crowbar in an armed robbery, late on Wednesday night.

Police report that three men arrived at 11:30pm, September 9, in a stolen silver Toyota Camry.

Two of the men entered the premises and one produced a firearm and threatened staff, while the other jumped the counter armed with the crowbar.

The man with the crowbar forcibly opened the tills and removed a sum of cash while his accomplice continued to threaten staff and demand money.

The pair then fled to the waiting Toyota outside.

Both men are described as around 185cm tall.

The man with the firearm is said to be of solid build and was wearing a grey hooded jumper, a shirt covering his face, light coloured gloves and black shoes.

The second man is of slim build and was wearing dark jeans with rips, a dark coloured balaclava, dark hooded jumper with dark gloves and white shoes.

Police are investigating the matter and are urging anyone who might have further information to come forward.
