Firies battle Beaudesert grass fire

Ten firefighting crews were called to a blaze in Beaudesert on Monday afternoon.

The fire burnt through about 12 to 16 hectares of grass land north of Enterprise Drive before it was brought under control.

Police were also on scene to control traffic after smoke blew over the Mount Lindesay Highway.

Firefighters were called shortly after 1pm, a Queensland Fire and Emergency spokeswoman said. The fire was under control by 2.50pm.

By 4.30pm firefighters had fully contained the fire and were blackening out its boundaries.
