Damaging winds, large hail and heavy rainfall were forecast to hit the Scenic Rim on Monday afternoon according to the Bureau of Meteorology.
The thunderstorms were moving south-east and were forecast to be severe between Boonah, Beaudesert and Peak Crossing by 3:25 pm.
The storms mostly bypassed the Fassifern and the Bureau updated its advice to warn Tamborine, Logan Village and Archerfield were likely to be hit by 3:55 pm.
More than 7,800 residents in the Scenic Rim were left without power after the storms passed through, including 115 at Maroon.
The Bureau has warned flash flooding is likely.
