A new footpath and seating areas will be constructed between the Council admin and Maynard’s building as the next stage of the Boonah Town Centre redevelopment.
The work is expected to begin on Monday and be completed by the end of November.
The area will be closed to footpath traffic during this time with temporary access points installed so customers can gain entry to the shops including the supermarket.
As part of the revamp the outdoor dining areas will be upgraded, new seating will be installed outside the supermarket and the timber hitching rail style installations will link the area to the Council forecourt.
Council made the announcement about the works plans three days before construction was due to begin.
