Light aircraft crash at Aratula

A man is seriously injured after a light aircraft crashed into a paddock at Aratula just before 10am on Sunday.

The pilot is in a serious but stable condition according to Queensland Ambulance Service and a rescue helicopter was sent to take him to the hospital.

The pilot, reported to be a male in his 60s, ran into trouble and managed to land in a paddock.

Unfortunately, the right wing of the plane hit a tree near Tarome road and the man was seriously injured.

Boonah Auxilliary Fire Crew and critical care paramedics were able to free the man from the cockpit and treat him.
