Police find sawn-off shotgun in Boonah raid

Police found a sawn-off shotgun after a search at a house in Boonah.

The Major and Organised Crime Squad (Rural) helped Boonah Police executing warrants around Boonah .

At one of the houses they found the shortened 12 gauge pump action shotgun unsecured.

Detective Sergeant Troy Whittle said the weapon was a good find

“A shortened firearm such as that located today in Boonah, is highly sought after by criminals and organised crime groups, and this presents an unacceptable risk to the general community,” he said.

Police are conducting investigations into how the firearm came to be in the dwelling and who may be responsible for it.
