Residents were evacuated and police negotiated with a 51-year-old man after making an emergency declaration in Beaudesert on Saturday morning.
The declaration was revoked at 7.30am and the man was taken into custody.
A Public Safety Preservation Act was declared at 5.15am after police attended a home on Birnam Street at 4.05am.
There were no hostages and no one else was at risk and specialist negotiators were brought in.
The PSPA encompassed Birnam Street, James Street, Gordon Street and Beauview Crescent, Beaudesert.
Residents were evacuated and the community was asked to avoid the area.
