Smoke around the region is coming from a hazard reduction burn (Fassifern Valley), a vegetation fire (Tabooba) and a grass fire (Beaudesert).
The clouds of smoke rising from the Charlwood side of Mt French are from a prescribed burn on private property.
The fire off Krueger Road is in country that hasn’t been burned for upwards of 50 years, says the property owner.
“The country is thick with cats claw and asparagus fern, which is causing all the smoke.”
The burn is being closely monitored, he said.
A rural fire brigade crew was called to a location in the vicinity of Farringdon Road and Christmas Creek Road, Tabooba, just before noon, to control a fire in a tree. The crew is still at the scene.
Multiple crews remain on the scene of a grass fire in country north of Enterprise Drive, Beaudesert and is in the vicinity of the Mt Lindesay Highway.
