Restrictions on gatherings were brought back in “effective immediately” after an announcement from the Premier on Saturday Morning.
They come after the outbreak in the Brisbane Youth Detention Centre, in which six new cases have been recorded.
The Premier said the areas under the new restrictions include Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan, Scenic Rim, Lockyer Valley and Moreton Bay and Redlands.
The six cases at the detention centre are linked to the 77-year-old woman who tested positive and worked there.
A total of nine cases were recorded overnight.
Metro South, Metro North and West Moreton aged care and disability services lockdowns are also in effect.
More to come.
