LIKE Queensland’s Ipswich on the Bremer, South Australia’s Callington has a Bremer River too, about 60 kilometres east of Adelaide, in the hills. The town retains so much of the original charm of the 1840s mining days (copper) that people used to say that the whole town, including some of the characters who lived in it, should be preserved in a museum for posterity.
