A light plane made an emergency landing in a new housing estate off Robson Road, outside Boonah, on Sunday morning.

Boonah Police report the pilot was having some mechanical issues with the plane on his flight from the Gold Coast to Toowoomba.

"He was attempting to land at the Boonah airfield however, was unable to make it," Senior Constable Andrew Conway said.

"The pilot made a safe landing on the new graded section of the housing estate."

The pilot was uninjured and landed the plane without damaging it.
