EARLIER:
PART of the Cunningham Highway near Kelly Road in Silverdale has been closed to traffic for several hours while emergency services search for a person who could have been involved in a car versus pedestrian accident.
A Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) media spokesperson said emergency services were called to the Silverdale location around 6pm last night after reports a pedestrian had been hit by a car.
The spokesperson said when QAS arrived there was no patient.
"The police told the paramedics to stand down while they searched the area," they said.
"If they find someone and if it's needed, QAS will return."
It is understood the road is still closed to traffic while police continue to search the area.
