It is unofficial as yet, but the Fassifern Guardian understands that after the distribution of preferences, the Incumbent Mayor Greg Christensen has won a second term in office.

Cr Christensen claimed the win yesterday saying the few postal votes which were outstanding would not be enough to make the difference.

Tom Sharp from Beechmont was the second placed contender after the distribution of preferences from Dr Chris Summers and Virginia Price gave him the lead over John Brent.

We will update the story when the Electoral Commission of Queensland publishes the figures.
