1 min read

Incumbent Michael Enright has pulled ahead of Jennifer Sanders in the Division 4 election tally.

With 71.74 percent of the vote counted, Enright has 53.13 percent of the vote with 1,824 casting their ballot for him.

Former councillor Jennifer Sanders, who lost her seat to Enright in the 2016 election is holding 1,609 votes.

Since the amalgamation of the Boonah and Beaudesert shire councils in 2008 the Division 4 seat, which centres on Beaudesert, has changed every election.

The inaugural councillor for the seat was Dave Cockburn who won with more than 67 percent of the vote.

He did not run in the 2012 election and Jennifer Sanders won the seat with about 52 percent of the vote.

In the 2016 election, Michael Enright challenged Sanders and won with more than 61 percent of the vote.

If he holds the lead, he will be the first Division 4 councillor to hold the office for a second term.
