Project underway at the Rosewood Showgrounds

A NEW barbeque area, amenities building and footpath are under construction at the Rosewood Showgrounds.

Division 4 Councillor Kate Kunzelmann said she joined with Ipswich Mayor Teresa Harding, Councillor Milligan, the Rosewood Show Society and the Rosewood Lions to discuss the location and layout of the new facilities.

“The old barbeque shelter has been demolished and construction of the new barbeque shelter is underway,” she said.

“A fenced construction zone has been created and there may be increased noise from construction equipment and vehicles.

“The new amenities block and barbeque shelter are expected to be completed in May 2022, depending on weather.”

Division 4 Councillor Russell Milligan said the current amenities were identified as needing to be replaced.

“The new combined amenities block will have male, female and person with disability toilets, showers and a laundry,” he said.

“The new facility includes a new barbeque shelter with barbeques and picnic tables and a new pathway will be installed joining the barbeque shelter and amenities block to the cultural hall and the car park.

“Once the work is completed, the existing amenities block will be demolished.
