Boonah High campdrafters among the top teams in Percentile Cup

ONLY 3.75 points separated the winners of the 2021 Percentile Cup High School Campdraft and the Boonah High School team at Dalby during the weekend.

“The Boonah High team tied for fifth place which is pretty awesome,” said Justine Stanton, who is a parent of one of the 11 rider team.

“And one of our team, Cash Turner, won the second round in the individual event and made it through to the finals.”

It was more than an awesome achievement for the Boonah High team.

“A total of 273 riders from thirty-four schools from all over Queensland competed including teams from Rockhampton and Mt Isa and numerous private schools,” Justine said.

“It was a tough competition.”

Justine and her husband, Glen, were among the contingent of Boonah High parents who helped ‘taxi’ the Boonah High team to Dalby for the three-day event.

And, of course, to form the brigade of supporters.

The 11 riders who made up the Boonah State High School team were Kaiden Hasiwell, Xavier Holdorf, Kate Stanton, Charlie Daniels, Stevie-Ann Middlebrook, Maddie Kimber, Maguire Casey, Cash Turner, Curtis Wimmer, Bailey Sullivan and Lucie Quade.

The Percentile Cup is the largest Juvenile Draft in Australia and lived up to its status even though teams from Northern New South Wales were unable to enter due to Covid border restrictions.
