Police and emergency services personnel and volunteers drew the attention of shoppers in Boonah on Thursday to the Rural Road Safety Month message that all road users play a role in reducing risks on rural roads. Displays in Park Street highlighted the Fatal 5 - speeding, seatbelts, mobile phones and distractions, drink or drug driving, and fatigue. The event included a demonstration of how an injured driver is freed from a crashed car. This week, Constable Andrew Conway reported that Fassifern Police have issued 97 traffic infringement notices in the division since the beginning of the month.
