DREAMCATCHERS in a Jacaranda tree and newly ‘suited up’ trees and power poles all in Christmas colours – the Boonah CBD has been yarn bombed.
Expanding on a theme that began three years ago, Margaret Fry and Wendy Briner from the Boonah District Chamber of Commerce, have led a core band of crafters, knitters, crocheters and sewing machinists, in the creating of textile artworks to brighten up the town’s business district in the lead up to Christmas.
These decorations are not mere scarves wound around trees or a coloured wrap on a power pole, many are well within the realms of textile art.
“I think it is more than worthy of being called a collaborative community art piece,” said newly elected Chamber of Commerce President, Joe Worley.
“The yarn bombing decorations are more impressive every year and the amount
