ARATULA Formula 1 powerboat racer Kay Marshall is a high achiever who was recently inducted into the Australian Hall of Fame.
She has been at the top of her game since the early 1980s and even now, aged in her seventies, shows no sign of slowing down.
And why should she?
“A numerologist told me I’ll live until I am 150,” she laughed.
She said she is thinking of ‘going back into’ the sport and how the next 70 years could be spent should she be so lucky.
Manoeuvring a high-powered boat across waterways at over 200km/hr doesn’t seem like a sport many grandmothers in their 70s would consider doing, if any.
Throw in racing other boats travelling at the same speed and the danger level is ramped up a notch.
This grandmother, however, is not like all the rest.
This one is built different, very different.
