THE Boonah Brumbies men’s and women’s teams fell victim to the wet weather which impacted sport across the region over the weekend.
Both Queensland Christian Soccer Association games scheduled for Coronation Park last Saturday were postponed.
The Brumbies women were chasing their first win of the Division 1 season against Westminster Warriors, the team above them on the ladder.
Boonah’s next match is against unbeaten competition leaders Brisbane Valley Eagles at Lowood on Saturday.
The Brumbies men were also preparing to tackle Westminster in the earlier Division 4 game before the weather rolled in.
The fourth-placed Brumbies men hold a one-point lead over Mansfield, looking towards to their next game against home team St Catherines Grey on Saturday.
Some junior games were played on Saturday morning before the rain came and the fields became too wet to play on.
On the previous night, Boonah’s Over-30 men’s side slipped to fourth place after losing their latest Division 2 match 3-1 to Southern Districts at Hyde Park.
That came after their previous week’s game against Brisbane Valley was postponed.
The Brumbies Over 30s need to beat Raceview in Ipswich on Friday night to retain a top four spot for the fast-approaching finals.
The Brumbies are on 21 points with six wins, three draws and three losses.
Brisbane Valley and Whitehill are just one point behind in the thrilling battle for playoff spots.
