Three arrested at Tarome for Toowoomba home invasion

A suspicious vehicle fire on the Cunningham Highway led to the capture of three males involved in a violent home invasion in Toowoomba on Thursday night.

Police were called to the burning vehicle, which was on the highway at Tarome at around 3.00am on Friday.

On arrival, Police found that the vehicle was well alight. It had collided with a concrete barrier.

There were no occupants in the vehicle when the emergency services arrived.

Later that morning, police were called by members of the public who reported that three men were  walking down the highway around the area known as Bellbird Park.

Police located them and further investigation revealed they were responsible for the theft of the burnt-out vehicle as well as a violent home invasion in the Toowoomba area the previous evening.

All three were arrested and taken to the Ipswich watchhouse.

One of the men was wanted on a return-to-prison warrant while another was given strict bail conditions to appear in Toowoomba Magistrates Court on the September 22.

 The third male, a 17-year-old juvenile, was bailed to appear in the Toowoomba Children’s Court on the Thursday.
